Budget 2008 – It’s Your City. Have Your Say.City of Vancouver – EventsLocation: City Hall, 453 West 12th Avenue, Third Floor, Council Chamber
The City of Vancouver invites you to a public meeting to learn more about the 2008 budget proposals and the City’s long term property tax policy. It’s also a chance to share your views and ask questions. Some property tax policy questions we want your opinion on include: – How should property taxes be shared between residential and business properties? – How should we manage year-over-year volatility in property taxes paid by individual properties? Some budget questions we want your opinion on include: – What services are most important to you? – Should property taxes be raised to maintain or enhance services? – Would service cuts be preferable to tax increases? – Should police staffing be increased to reduce crime? City Council will use feedback from these meetings to help decide service levels and 2008 property tax increases. The first half of each public meeting will focus on Property Tax Policy and the second half will focus on the 2008 budget proposals.
